Communism, capitalism and tax on medicine, treatment expenses and essential food products

While I was listening to the analysis of the Kerala budget presented today, I realized that the finance minister is increasing the tax rates on medicine and hospital expenses. That was a surprise for me since I was not expecting any. And there was another surprise. There is tax on food grains!! Out of every thing, the most essential thing for the poor people is food. And a communist government is charging tax on it. Another thing they proposed is the surcharge on big retail stores like Reliance. They are the only one who are collecting tax already. All the small stores are cheating on tax. Even after that the big stores sell stuff for cheap. From this you can under stand the huge margin the small stores are charging. Now the surcharge is going to be a burden on the people.

Now if you look at America, the capitalist enemy of communists, you will find that there is no tax on medicine, hospital treatment expenses and essential food products. May be that is one thing the communists can start emulating the capitalists.
