Private buses leaving before people get inside and hold on to some thing.

It is a common sight any where in Kerala. People have to risk their lives if they want to get in or out of the buses. As soon as you put one feet on the bottom step, they will give the signal for the driver to take the bus. This is especially cruel on the old ladies who have difficulty in holding on n a moving bus. The same thing happens when they get off too. They have to come to the door before the bus reaches the stop if they want to get off. The buses need to install signaling systems for passengers to stop the bus similar to developed countries. It is nothing very complicated. It is a rope running on the side of the bus right above the seat. People can pull it from their seats without getting up can come to the door once the bus stopped.

This week a lady fell of the bus and bus run over her legs at Kottayam. This was a totally preventable incident.

As smitha wrote about her experience, it is a common problem.

Sujo, I know the speed governor is rigged and is not working in most vehicles. You can see it from the high number of people getting killed every day in Kerala. The rope is nothing too fancy. It is just a rope going to the bell. It is a mechanical one.
